Over the years of working out, I've kept a level of leanness in my body without gaining much fat even as I'm stepping into my late 20s.

I was never always lean though.

In the past, I was chubby and a little fat. As I started to prioritize exercise, I started to lose some weight. But when adulthood came, exercising seems to be a huge hurdle to cross sometimes.

Yet, I'm still able to maintain a low body fat and I owe it all to the simple lifestyle habits that have worked out for my body.

Just a caveat that the advice I'm about to give has worked well for me but it may not work well for you. This is just solely based on my experience alone.

Here are the 5 lifestyle habits that have helped me to maintain a lower body fat even as I get older.

#1. Choose to move as much as possible With limited time in our day, people choose not to exercise and that's fine.

We don't need a full 1-hour session to burn calories. What we need is to decide to practice NEAT whenever we can. It's the energy expended whenever we go along with our daily activities besides exercising.

It's when you choose to walk to the train station when you can instead of taking the bus.

It's when you choose to take the stairs instead of the elevator when your office is only on the 2nd floor.

It's when you choose to take up trekking as an activity instead of going for a couple of drinks with your loved ones.

It isn't complicated. It's simply choosing to move as much as you can within a given day.

Walking is the easiest way to lose fat since it burns calories and it doesn't provide excessive stress on your body like other

types of cardio.

A simple challenge I give myself is to get at least 10,000 steps daily. It might seem a lot at first, but as I go about my day, I probably realized that it's easier to hit than it seems. All I needed to do was to choose to move as much as I can...
